Sue Williams A’Court – Dreamy Landscapes

Pastel palette!

Last summer I was lucky enough to see some of Sue Williams A’Court Paintings in a gallery in London.

I thought to see just small scaled drawings, but Sue works on very large scale too. The pictures online don’t give a proper scale of how big her works are, and they are so amazing! These delicate graphite landscapes are surrounded by pastel shades and a sense of retro nostalgia.

I couldn’t decide what to show in the gallery, so I picked two entire series. One is about her collages, the other one is a Series of drawings on book covers. If you love her works as I do, you can follow her on Twitter and Instagram.

Inspired – Jenna Douglass

Amazing!

The American mixed media artist Jenna Douglass brings us into her dreamy imaginary travels with a series called “Placial Relations“.

Here’s how Jenna introduces her body of works:

This work addresses place and memory, combining elements of collage, paint, and other media to create the memory of a place in each painting; As I have inhabited several states over the past few years I’ve grown interested in the attachment and loss that comes as one grows fond of a new place and then must leave it.

Purple Crafts – Secret Wood

Nature to wear!

The Canadian brand Secret Wood creates fine handmade rings with a dreamy twist. Each piece is realised  mixing fresh wood and coloured jewelry resin.

The magical switch is in the details – inside each ring you can see a miniature surreal scenery that takes inspiration from nature.

You can literally bring a landscape with you, isn’t it cool? For now the the brand produces just rings, but they are planning to create pendants too. Can’t wait to see them!

Torben Giehler – Abstract Nature

Colorful!

The paintings by the German artist Torben Giehler are the perfect one to bring you a positive mood every time you look at them.

Sometimes in his abstract paintings you can recognize a mountain landscape, but his personal way to see nature is stunning.

Bright and shiny colors are the key players of each of his works, and the way he combines them together is so intriguing and inspiring.

Sean Molloy – Revamped Classic Art

Classic and contemporary!

I love how the Dublin based artist Sean Molloy revamps traditional paintings and vintage photos giving them a contemporary touch. The artist wants to investigate the relevance of classic painting in a digitally-mediated world.

On every art piece there is a contraposition between the classic portrait or landscape style, and layers of digital elements inspired by a variety of sources, as image manipulation software, glitch art, etc.

Everything is done using a traditional painting technique, and the final result is balanced even if the inspirational elements are so different. Love it!

Marie Elaine Lalonde – Géomorphogenèse

Gorgeous!

The Canadian artist Marie Elaine Lalonde shows us her personal point of view in observing nature. I was particularly intrigued by her Géomorphogenèse series, where breathtaking landscape pictures become bold monochromatic art pieces.

Using the screenprint technique on wood and acrylic paint, Marie Elanie reinvents the landscape, transforming it into a magical and unreal world. Below some of my fave works of this series, enjoy!
