I have been involved in this exciting collaboration with the brand Stanley, where I had to “dress up” one of their products with a collage.
I never did anything like that before, so it was quite a challenge for me. The collab involved filming a commercial as well, so I was not sure if I could make it at first. I can say that despite the fears,
I am very happy that I tried something new, and also pleased with the final result. You can see what I have made on the video above, I hope you enjoy it!
Photodido is a smart collaboration between the artists Sandra and Geda. Sandra studied in Lithuanian Accademy of Cinema and Theater and graduated from Animated Visual Arts. Geda is a professional photographer and graduate of Vilnius Art Academy.
It’s not a surprise that from these 2 brilliant minds came out this beautiful creative project. Their artworks are a mix and match of collage, installation and sculpture. It looks like that each piece came out from a tiny nostalgic time capsule that recalls a puppet theatre.
I was lucky enough to see some of her originals during an art fair in London. The UK artist Maria Rivans creates intricate and fascinating collages, where pop art and surrealism meet together and create sparkling compositions. I have added some of the pieces found on her series Pin-ups, but check all the rest on her website, it’s fab!
I also have her beautiful book “Things to Cut Out and Collage”, filled with tons of images that you can use for your collages (highly recommended!). You can purchase her originals here and follow her on Instagram here.
It was pretty challenging to pick just a few of the pieces of this amazing artist – Linden Eller has an enchanted aesthetic that she express through collages, paintings and illustrations. I like how she can mix these 3 techniques together in a very consistent way.
Below you can see some of the collages of her series Dear Sincerely, but when you have time I will highly recommend you to check all the rest. You can shop her artworks here, and follow her on instagram here.
The opening will be the first October, the event will run until the 23rd of November. If you are in Brighton or you are willing to go the next month, feel free to pass by! The gallery owner Raffaella is a lovely girl, I am very happy to have been involved into this exhibition.
Today I share with you the incredible collage works by the multidisciplinary artist Lanecia Rouse Tinsley. I love the sense of depth and composition of her pieces, and the layering is always spot on.
This intro on her website sums up perfectly the many talents of this artist:
Lanecia Rouse is a multidisciplinary artist based in Houston, TX. Her portfolio includes a range of abstract painting, photography, teaching, writing, speaking, and curatorial projects for local non-profit organizations.
Lanecia creates work that focuses on liminal space, on the not-yet-formed possibilities and depictions present in materials and their presentation that point towards “otherwise” possibilities and the everyday quests humans undergo to construct meaningful and content lives.
Her work is the product of contemplative and intuitive abstract mixed-media practices and is informed by sociology, theology, culture, poetry, and history.
I am super impressed by the magnetic power of the collages by the American artist Katie Jean Gilmour. I found her on Instagram through her official account, but she also opened one just for her paper experiments.
It looks like these are just a way for her to “maintain focus”, with the purpose to switch them in the future into paintings. I really enjoy the freshness of these works, especially because they suggest me a dark secret of some sort.
I hope to see more of her collage works, they are so inspiring!
